Oman Urges Its Citizens in Lebanon to Stay Away From Conflict Areas

Oman has urged its citizens to exercise caution and to avoid approaching areas seeing armed conflicts, the Omani embassy in Lebanon said.

However, the embassy has not specified which areas in Lebanon that it was advising its citizens to avoid.

All Omani citizens are advised to call the following numbers: +96176010037 or +961 1856555 in the event of any emergency.

Similarly, Kuwaiti foreign ministry issued an advisory early Saturday calling on Kuwaitis in Lebanon to avoid "areas of security disturbances." Moreover, Saudi Arabia called on its citizens on Friday to quickly leave Lebanese territory.

At least 13 people were killed in fighting that broke out in the Palestinian camp of Ain el-Hilweh on Saturday, July 29th, between mainstream faction Fatah and hardline Islamists.

Ain el-Hilweh is the largest Palestinian camp in Lebanon, hosting around 80,000 of up to 250,000 Palestinian refugees in the country.
