Palestinian Journalists Celebrated With LEGO Portraits

Instagram famous, American illustrator and miniaturist Trillie Nelson, aka ATOM TODD, has created beautiful LEGO portraits of Palestinian journalists working during the ongoing war in Gaza

ATOM TODD has created this series of portraits of Palestinian journalists and other professionals, titled 'Heroes of Palestine', who have resiliently worked to highlight the brutality of war in Gaza while risking their lives and losing their loved ones. 

The LEGO portraits are available for download with a pay-what-you-want pricing model. ATOM TODD will donate the proceeds from this artwork to the Press House Palestine, which is providing aid to journalists in Gaza.

Wael Al Dahdouh

Wael Al Dahdouh is the chief bureau of Al Jazeera in Gaza. He was recently awarded the Freedom of Press Award for 2024 by the Egyptians Journalists Syndicate. 

He lost his son Hamza Al Dahdouh, also a journalist for Al Jazeera,  on Jan. 7 in an Israeli attack. 

He lost his wife, his other son, daughter, and grandson some weeks ago during the conflict. 

Motaz Azaiza

Motaz Azaiza is a Palestinian photographer and digital journalist who consistently shares what's happening on the ground in Gaza, disregarding the danger to his life.

Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah

Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah travelled to Gaza at the start of the war in Gaza and worked tirelessly to treat the victims of Israeli attacks, despite the lack of shortage of medical resources.

He left Gaza seven weeks ago, but his heart remains with his patients and he continues to shed light on the plight of the Palestinians in Gaza.

He has also launched a fund for Palestinian children called The Ghassan Abu Sittah Children’s Fund.
