The First-Ever Marriage Counselling Initiative Launched in Oman

Oman's government has launched the first-ever national marriage counselling programme called 'Tamask', which means 'cohesion' in Arabic.

The programme will equip couples with the requisite expertise and insight to form strong and long-lasting marital relationships.

The programme encompasses various subjects including clarification of spousal rights and responsibilities, enhancement of emotional fulfilment competencies, and highlighting the importance of communication.

Tamask will target 150 couples during the programme's inaugural year.

The programme will expand to other governates in the future.

Tamask is expected to help reduce divorce rates and help maintain the well-being of married couples in the Sultanate.

The inaugural session will take place at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Complex for Culture and Entertainment.

The session will include newly married couples or those couples who are about to be married.

The four-day programme will help the couples develop an understanding, which will help them create a healthy family dynamic.
