The Royal Opera House Muscat Announces Some Exciting Performances

The Royal Opera House Muscat in Oman has announced an exciting new season, which will include various contemporary and traditional music, opera, and dance performances. 

The new season includes almost 30 productions with artists from the Middle East, Europe, and North Africa.

Arab Musical Performances

Famous Lebanese singer Majida El Roumi will perform on Oct. 17 and Oct. 18  as part of the Omani Women's Day Concert with a female all-blind ensemble Al Nour Wal Amal Orchestra.

Another concert will feature the Lebanese singer, and composer Ragheb Alama who will perform on Feb. 2 and Feb. 3, 2024. 

A concert on Mar. 1 and Mar. 2, 2024, will feature popular Syrian singer Assala, dedicated to the work of the Egyptian composer Mohamed Abdel Wahab.

There will be a programme on Oct. 11 and Oct. 12, which will feature the works of jazz trumpeter Randy Brecker and Russian saxophonist Igor Butman.

Indian master sitarist Nishat Khan will dazzle the audience with his music on Nov. 8 and Nov. 10.

On Apr. 19, 2024, the opera house will host one of the best voices of Fado Cristina Branco.

On May 10 and May 11, 2024, a series of concerts titled 'Traditional Symphonies: A Journey through Yemeni Music' will enchant audiences with folk music and poetry from Yemen.

Opera

One of the greatest comic operas 'The Barber of Seville' will be staged on Sep. 28 and Sep. 30.

These nights of comedy will soon be followed by the romance and tragedy of  'La Boheme' on Nov. 23 and Nov. 25.

If you're interested in a light-hearted romance, then you can catch the romantic pursuits of a wealthy bachelor in 'Don Pasquale' on Dec. 14 and Dec. 16.

Shakespeare lovers will be delighted to know that a new version of his popular play 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' will be performed on Feb. 8 and Feb.10, 2024.

Ballet

Russia's Bolshoi Ballet will stage 'Raymonda' from Jan. 25 to Jan. 27, 2024. 

The Prague National Ballet and the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra will present 'La Fille Mal Gardee' on Mar. 6 and Mar. 7, 2024.

Other Events

China’s Xi’an Acrobatic Troupe will present an exciting new version of the ballet 'Swan Lake' on Oct. 26 and Oct. 28.

The Canadian circus company Cirkopolis will present funny performances daily from Dec. 21.

The Folk Music Festival will celebrate the musical heritage of Oman on Feb. 23 and Feb. 24, 2024.

The famous UK company Stomp will perform their blockbuster Broadway and West End show at the opera house from Apr. 25 to Apr. 27, 2024.
