Over 1,600 Individuals Rescued in Oman After Flash Floods

1,630 individuals were rescued in the Sultanate across various governates.

After the heavy rainfall and flash floods in Oman, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) conducted 152 operations and rescued 1,630 individuals across various governates over the past few days. 

The ROP received many distress calls with reports of stranded individuals and vehicles in the rainwater, fire incidents, and other mishaps.

Over the past few days, the death toll because of the flash floods reached 19, with four individuals still unaccounted for. 

The ROP has also been relentlessly working to restore normalcy and ensure security maintenance in the Sultanate after the flash floods. 

Their efforts were acknowledged by the Director General of Operations Brigadier Mohammed bin Nasser Al Kindi.

The public has been advised to remain cautious and avoid areas affected by running waters caused by wadis.
