The Jebel Shams mountain in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate in northeastern Oman was draped with snow on Monday evening, January 23rd, as the country is affected by an air depression.

The air depression is expected to continue in Oman until Saturday, January 28th.

The rare snowfall on Jebel Shams became the center of attraction and photos and videos of the view circulated on social media platforms.

The mountain recorded a temperature of -3.6°C and high humidity yesterday and a low of -2°C today, January 24th.

Oman also witnessed a dip in temperatures in other governorates, reaching a low of 3°C in Ash Sharqiyah South Governorate.
