Muscat International Book Fair Kicks Off on Feb 22nd

The 27th edition of the Muscat International Book Fair will be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center from February 22nd to March 4th, with the participation of 32 countries.

Muscat Book Fair provides a major platform for publishers, distributors, and authors from Oman and abroad.

In a press conference, Minister of Information and Chairman of the Main Committee of the bookfair, Abdullah Nasser Al Harrasi, said the number of Arabic books on display will be 260,614, including 22,950 Omani books, in addition to 204,411 foreign books. 

Besides a diverse selection of books, the event will include several cultural programs for readers across different categories, including academic, cultural, literary, and scientific. 

The exhibition will also include family and children's programs with an emphasis on sciences of the future.

Artificial Intelligence will be used in the book fair for the first time to count visitors in real-time, know their ages, and analyze all data related to the event. 

Over 300,000 visitors attended the 26th edition of the fair.
