Bidiyah Camel Festival 2023 Commences on Friday

Under the direction of the Office of the Governor of North Al Sharqiyah and organized by the Camel Committee in the Wilayat of Bidiyah, the third Bidiyah camel festival event commenced today.

The festival is run in support of the traditional heritage, taking into account that camel racing is one of the most popular traditional pastimes enjoyed by camel owners in the Sultanate and the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

The festival also highlights the best camels produced by the joint farms throughout the season and gives owners the chance to see the finest camels and compete for prizes.

 "The launch of the two-day festival came amidst a large audience from Oman and around the globe, and with a wide participation of camel owners and breeders from various governorates, indicating that the activities of the festival aim to highlight the best breeds and ways to preserve them," said Sheikh Humaid bin Muhammad Al-Hajri, Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Festival.
