Oman: Official Report of the Cyclone Biparjoy by the Authority

The third report on the tropical situation in the Arabian Sea, Biparjoy, was issued by the Civil Aviation Authority.

According to the most recent satellite images and analyses by the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center, the tropical situation is still being categorized as a category I tropical cyclone that is 1020 kilometers off the coast of the Sultanate of Oman. It is centered in the middle of the Arabian Sea at a latitude of 14.8 north and a longitude of 66.2 east.

Indicators for the probability of damaging the atmosphere of the Sultanate of Oman started to diminish further as the wind speed around the cyclone's center is predicted to be between 64 and 70 knots, with no direct effects on the atmosphere of the Sultanate of Oman for the next three days.

There is the potential for the tropical situation to intensify into a second-class hurricane, and the wind speed around the center is estimated to be between 83 and 90 knots. On the coasts overlooking the Arabian Sea, there is a flow of high and medium clouds, and there is an ongoing concern with regard to the height of the sea waves along the coasts of the three governorates of South Sharqiya, Central, and Dhofar, with the maximum wave height reaching 3 to 5 meters.

On the shores of the governorates of South Sharqiya, Central, and Dhofar, it contains a warning about the height of the sea waves; the highest wave height reaches 4-6 meters, and there are chances for seawater to reach low-lying coastal areas.
