His Majesty to Patronize the Opening of Oman Across Ages Museum

His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq will patronize the official opening of the Oman Across Ages Museum in the Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate on Monday, March 13th.

Located in Nizwa, the museum -- a cultural and educational landmark for all visitors -- is a celebration of Oman's rich history, culture, and economic growth through time while offering an insight into the country's future. 

It traces Oman from the first settlers of prehistory to the present, flying through different ages, dynasties, and civilizations. 

The sweeping journey through time will be displayed through interactive visual and sound presentations.

The museum will keep the legacy and values of the Omani modern renaissance since the 1970s alive in the young people of the nation, during which Oman has experienced remarkable economic, technological, political, and social modernization. 

The museum is spread on an area of around 40,000sqm. It comprises 9,000sqm of permanent and temporary exhibition galleries, a library, an auditorium, research and storage space, and children's classrooms.

The project was envisioned by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who laid its foundation stone in 2015.
