As Oman moves closer to the height of its summer season, temperatures across the Sultanate have climbed sharply, exceeding 40 °C in many areas. According to official data, Saham recorded the country’s highest temperature over the past 24 hours, reaching a sweltering 44.5°C .

Data released by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) highlighted the intense heat experienced across several regions during the 24-hour period ending Monday evening.

Among the hottest areas, Samail and Fahud both recorded scorching temperatures of 43.9°C, while Dima Wattayeen wasn’t far behind at 43.6°C. Al Rustaq and Muqshin reached 43.5°C, closely followed by Sur and Barka, each hitting 43.2°C.

Other notable readings include Jalan Bani Bu Hassan, which reached 43.1°C, as well as Al Suwaiq and Wadi Al Maawil, which reported 43.0°C and 42.9°C respectively, according to the meteorological stations of the CAA.

These soaring temperatures have arrived weeks ahead of the traditional summer peak, with daytime highs already surpassing the 40°C mark in multiple regions. The nation braces itself as the heat intensifies, marking an early arrival of summer's relentless grip.
